DESCRIPTION

Create game ready assets from scratch in a step-by-step process using tools: Autodesk Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter and Marmoset Toolbag!

Course Outline:

# BASIC HARD SURFACE MODELING

1. Maya interface
2. Basic modeling tool and primitive introduction
3. Modeling simple objects and explore various modeling techniques
4. Create general props

#HIGH POLY

1. Selecting concept and planning the pipeline
2. Creating a high poly model
3. Basic ZBrush interface
4. Detailing techniques in ZBrush

#LOW POLY

1. Applications of the low poly model in production
2. Basics of topology
3. Creating an efficient low poly model
4. Basic knowledge of UV
5. Creating effective UV

#MAP BAKING

1. Introduction of texture map and their application
2. Baking necessary maps
3. Fixing the baked errors and prepare for texturing

#TEXTURING

1. Theory of various kind of texturing methods
2. Introduction of substance painter interface
3. Explore various texturing tools in substance painter
4. Create pbr texture
5. Export required maps

#PRESENTATION FOR PORTFOLIO

1. Introduction of marmoset toolbag
2. Creating projects and material setup
3. Lighting and post-processing
4. Render for presentation

#2ND PORTFOLIO PROJECT

1. High poly modeling
2. Low poly modeling
3. UV and map baking
4. Texturing
5. Presentation

1. Introduction to character modeling pipeline for games
2. Introduction to zbrush interface
3. Understanding characters anatomy
4. Creating base mesh using primitive objects
5. Creating simple characters using primitives method

#CONCEPT BASED MODELING

1. Selecting concept and break down the modeling plan
2. Blocking the base mesh and refine the anatomy
3. Creating outfit and props
4. Sculpting details in high poly character and making final adjustments
5. Making low poly character
6. Creating a efficient uv
7. Baking maps from high poly character to low poly character and fixing the errors for texturing
8. Texturing character
9. Presentation in marmoset toolbag
